Thank You So Much!

Thank you so much for all of the help on Saturday with our roof. We had such a great turn out that we ended up having more helpers than work at times. in the end we got the majority done, so my dad and tim should have it finished tomorrow so that by tuesday we can start our extension project. mark, crow, brett, shea, lauren, todd, and a few people from our ward showed up to lend a hand and it was great. thanks again for all the help, we couldn't have done it without you. al

Back from Panama

Well we finnally made it back from an epic trip to panama. We had a blast. We rode in one long plane ride. Took buses, small planes in lightning storms, water taxies, were picked up by ex pats hitch hiking and ended up seeing a good portion of the country. Unlike costa rica the country is still pretty undeveloped which made it really fun. We met a lot of travelers one of which was friends with Scott Wilke in New Zealand. We Got to swim in both the atlantic and the pacific in the same day. We walked through rainforests, coffee fields , and banana fields. We ate alot of cheap thai, indian, and panamanian food. Anyways had an awsome trip. Heres some pics of some of our adventures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLLIE RAWLIE!!

Today our big six year old is celebrating his birthday.  Last night Todd and I went and picked up his present, this little four wheeler.  We were so excited to give it to him we couldnt wait. (plus Jackson was bout busting at the seams to get on it).   We made him close his eyes and took him in the garage and he was SOOOOO excited and cute!!  He been riding it all day in the dirt lot next door and all the neighbor big boys (jacks friends) are here riding too.  Colin thinks he is all that!!!  We sure love this boy, he has been a joy to have in our family.  If anyone is around we are going to have cake and a little family party on Sunday night at 6.  Today we are just taking a few of his little friends to JUMP ON IT (the tramp place) nothing big, cuz he had a big friend party last year.  (we only do friend parties every other year). Happy Birthday Colin we love you sooooo much.

Ma in Mayaland

Hello Dear, This is the first chance I have had to email. We have been staying in jungle locations. We are having an amazing time. John Lund has a photographic memory and must talk like Hugh Nibley. We are seeing amazing things. John Lund said this is the best weather he has ever had!! It is not too hot but the humidity is unbelievable. We are staying in really nice places with warm warm swimming pools and we go at the end of the day. I went ziplining today through the jungle tops for 2 kilometers. I`m having a great time with Connie and Dean`s friends have been really nice to us. The people are our age and older but real troopers. They get us up by 5:oo sometimes and we go all day. Tomorrow we are going down a river that empties into the Carribean and we are staying at a bay on the Carribean. We have so far seen the Sidon River, Zarahemla, and Nephiha, the land of Jershon, the history of Kish, these sites are all the best Central America has to offer. Hope you are doing good, hope Mark is in school, how does the new window look. John Lunds wife if Laren Gertsch`s sister, she is helping run the tour and really nice. Have you seen Dean? I love you, you would have eaten this up. I`ll try to email again. Love your wife. P.S. Please send this to everyone.

Sophie's First Day Of School

Today is Sophie's first day of school. She is going full day and it is really going to cramp my style. We have to have her there by 8:00 AM!!!!!!! She will be taking the bus in a few days. I kind of got teary eyed as we walked thru the halls. My little girl isn't so little anymore. She is really excited to start, just like her 2 cousins. We'll see how she does later today-

St. George Labor Day

We packed the family off to St. George this weekend as one last hurrah of summer.  We passed these old men and their crying pig in the back on the way down.  Saturday we were just lazy cuz the weather wasn't great and the kids just hung out and played.  Jackson shot his bb gun off the back porch at all the little bunnies hopping by, and as u can imagine, didn't shot a one.  Aiden just walked around carrying his golf club all day waiting until dusk when he could run down to the greens and hit.  We saw a movie and ate at the In-&-OUt burger in St. George.  We had a huge thunderstorm in the evening which was kinda fun to sit outside and watch.  The St. George house has these big skylights all through the house and the rain just slammed into it and it sounded like the house was gonna cave in.
Sunday we work up to more rain, so we decided jump in the car and drive to Vegas and do some back to school shopping.  There is an outlet mall in Vegas that I have discovered that is really good.  Alexia was really happy, the boys not so much but we did stop at the indian reservation to buy illegal fireworks and Jack was like a bee in a honey pot!!We got home that night and Jack felt sick and went to bed and we did all the sparklers after he was asleep!!  Anyway just a fun relaxing weekend.  Love Mern

Lake Powel Thunder

We went to lake powell this weekend.  It was a lot of fun except that it was boarder line stormy pretty much the whole weekend but we managed to take advantage of every bit of sun that was on offer and I still managed to burn my face.  So you can expect to good case of the herpa lerpas soon.

MOUNTAIN MAN RENDEZVOUS

we joined brian and candy on friday to venture over to fort bridger, wyoming for the annual mountain man rendezvous. my brother and his friend brett also tagged along. it was great and as always i bought the girls a new pair of moccasins and tim bought them some little necklaces (they are actually bracelets that just so happen to fit around the girls necks). the weather was on the warm side, but it was fun and brian bought a few new animal pieces.

on sunday t and i spoke in sacrament, which we had been dreading all week. our topic was "raising a righteous posterity" and since we have SO MUCH experience we were not super stoked. all went well though, and we are both glad to have it over. other than that, we are just preparing for our roofing project in a few weeks. love, al
